Autumn Shell

Basically, this is just a User Interface (GUI/Shell) that I built for a Linux-based Smart TV.

I made this for my parents back in my hometown, because I’m currently living away from home and they’re quite “not tech-savvy,” which makes it difficult for me to help them with device setup and similar things.

What I built makes it easier for me to have full control over my parents’ smart TV, which I assembled from an old PC—such as remote access, media player, and so on.

I designed it using the 10-foot interface principle so it’s comfortable to use on a TV and easy to control with a mini keyboard or a game controller (arrow keys / D-Pad).

At first, I developed it using Electron, but unfortunately it was too heavy for an old PC. So I rewrote the code and migrated it from Electron to Tauri.

That’s basically a short description—I don’t really know how to describe this project properly, but the point is, it’s quite useful for me 👍
